CHINESE CULTURAL SHOW AT PSU< PHUKET>

Thai Version 

This performance from GuangXi Normal University co-operated with Confucius Institute at Phuket on 14 August 2007 at Luanganupas phuketkarn Auditorium, Prince of Songkla University, Phuket campus, Most of them is the performances of minority cultural groups in China because China has more than 56 minority tribal groups. Each group has different culture and custom, So CIP set these up to tell us their cultures as follow:

1. Tai performance: Tai, a minor of south-western of China, respect peacock as a lucky animal. So, this performance will be same as peacock will give you a lucky.

2. Wei Wu Er’s performance is the dancing with “Why this flower is very red” song, and this performance was used in the movie that very famous in the past. So, Chinese people are using this song to express their love feeling.

3. Road to sky performance: This performance shows the way of Ching Hai – Tibet railway which located above the sea-level and Highest in the world. So, it call “Road to sky”.

4 .Gong-Fu performance: This performance is very interesting and it’s very hard to see in Thailand.

5. Er-Hu performance: this performance is played by Guangxi’ s teacher and this song is telling about MengGu minority, and they like to watch horse competition

6. Guzheng musical performance: this performance is about a fisherman who against with typhoon.

7. Thai performance: this performance is very special because it performed by Chinese students of Guangxi University

8. Jasmine Song with the local instrument Jasmine is the sign of Thai mother’s day that Thai people always concentrate to Jasmine. So, Guangxi Normal University emphasize with the relationship between China and Thai. This time Guangxi University used the traditional Chinese instrument to play Jasmine song which is mixed between Thai song and Chinese instrument smoothly.

9. Yi tradition dancing  In south-west of China has a one miner that calls Yi Miner. Yi people like one flower that is Mayinghua. This flower has a good meaning because it is the sign of strong and hard life. In addition, this flower can cure life to barren land.

10. Liusanjie Song  Liusanjie is Zhuang people, he is fisherman. He is the best singer in his village. That time will have the owner of land, he influence to other people so much, especially he always bully the villagers. So, he fought to the owner of land with singing a song.

11. Meng gu chopstick dancing: everyone knows that chopsticks are the main equipment that Chinese using in Eating.  In northern – China, there are one of minority called “Meng gu” which also used chopsticks in dancing.
